Ramen has an origin in Chinese cuisine, but now it has evolved into Japanese own style and become a part of Japanese culture.
Some travelers list “eating ramen” as one of the purposes of traveling in Japan.
For those ramen lovers, I’ll recommend Shinyokohama Ramen Museum, the world’s first “food amusement park”.
The museum has started with a concept that “you can eat ramen from all over Japan without taking plane”.
Each region in Japan has its own style of ramen, and here you can try various kinds of local ramen at once!
Therefore, it’s crowded with ramen enthusiasts everyday.
You would like to try several kinds if you visit here, wouldn’t you?
If so, small sized mini-ramen are available so even ladies can go around several shops.
Also, there is a gallery where you can learn about ramen’s history, which was renovated in July 2017.
Learning tips of ramen, you would come to like ramen even more!
History of ramen
Inside the museum, the old city of Tokyo around 1958 is reproduced.
It’s nice to slurp ramen in retro atmosphere, and recommended as a photo spot as well.
Each ramen has its own feature and taste.
Try them all and find your favorite one at the Ramen Museum!
