Enoshima Illumination “Jewel of Shonan” Festival

Enoshima Island is a major tourist spot in Kanagawa.

It is famous as a spot for summer, but recently many visit there in winter as well.

Their main purpose is an illumination event called “Jewel of Shonan” held there in winter.

During the event, the Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden, located on the top of the island, is lighted up with colorful illumination.

And the highlight of the event is the lighted up Sea Candle Lighthouse.

The beautiful lines of light extending from the tower create the fabulous scenery.

It is nice of course to look up the tower from the ground, but looking down the night view from the tower could be even better.

When the air is clear, the shape of Mt. Fuji appears in the west!

In addition, this place is not only for illuminations but also for gourmet as there are a lot of good seafood restaurants in Enoshima.
