Along the Meguro River, one of the most popular cherry blossoms spots in Tokyo, no less than 800 cherry trees come into bloom.
As branches make an arch over the river, it offers a beautiful pink tunnel.
It worth visiting not only in daytime but also in the evening as the trees are illuminated creating a fantastic ambience.
Access to the viewing points along Meguro River
Cherry trees stretch along the river for about 3.8 kilometers between Ohashi and Taikobashi bridges.

About the lighting of cherry blossoms
Cherry blossoms are lighted up with lanterns in the evening in the area between Nakameguro and Ikejiriohashi.
The blooming trees lighted by lanterns create a magical space perfect for dating.

Congestion around the river
Nakameguro Station gets very congested in the cherry blossoms seasons.
Especially it gets crowded at the midstream of the river, which is near Nakameguro Station.

Weekdays: 18:00〜20:00
Weekend: 11:00〜15:00 and 18:00〜20:00
Especially during the lighting, it gets crowded with people after work and couples, even if it’s a weekday.
Though there are many restaurants along the riverside, you should find one in other area because most of the restaurants here must be full of people.

First bloom will be around March 22
Peak bloom will be around March 29 – 31
Even after the peak bloom, you can see the elegant view of dispersed flowers floating on the river.
