Deprived of the golden glow − Kinkaku-ji

Among the numerous tourist attractions in Kyoto, “Kinkakuji” is well known than any other ones.

The official name is “Rokuon-ji(鹿苑寺)”, but it is commonly called “Kinkaku-ji(金閣寺)” because it is famous for its reliquary hall “Kinkaku”.

Because it is registered as a World Heritage site, many people come from each country to see the golden Kinkaku.

Definitely, The major feature of the temple is the golden appearance.

The reliquary hall is three-story high, and each layer is built in a different style.

Pure gold foils are applied on the lacquer of the second and third layer.

A pond called  “Kyokochi(鏡湖池)” spreads in front of the temple, and breathtaking glitter of the gold is reflected on the water.

Kinkaku-ji matches the sceneries in every season such as spring cherry blossoms, summer green trees, autumn leaves, winter snow etc.

The experience here will make your memory of the Kyoto trip shine like a gold!
